1. Introduction and acceptance

OmnibusCloud (the "Service") is a crowdcomputing platform operated by Dmitry Ratner, an individual based in Israel ("we", "us", "the operator"). The Service lets authors publish projects that need computing power and lets the community contribute computing power from their own devices. The Service is currently offered as a free, open beta.

By creating an account, connecting a device, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Definitions

• Author — a user who publishes a project (campaign) that needs compute.
• Contributor — a user who connects a device to donate compute.
• Project / Campaign — a unit of work an Author publishes.
• Compute — the processing power your device provides to a project.
• Closed group — a private pool of devices reachable only by invite link.
• Client — the downloadable software that runs tasks on your device.
• Device — a computer you connect to the Service through the Client.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using it you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms and that your use complies with the laws that apply to you.

The Service may be unavailable in jurisdictions where crowdcomputing or our third-party providers are restricted. You are responsible for ensuring your use is lawful where you are.

4. Accounts and security

Your base account is provided through WitIdentity, our single sign-on provider; your extended profile (display name, avatar, bio, city) lives on the portal. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account.

Please provide accurate information, keep it current, and tell us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

5. The Service and beta status

The Service is provided free of charge during open beta. Beta software is under active development: features may change, break, or be removed, and data may be reset. We may introduce paid features in the future; if we do, we will make this clear before any charge applies.

6. Authors and project content

As an Author you are solely responsible for the projects, descriptions, media, and tasks you publish ("Content"), and you confirm you hold the rights needed to publish it. Public projects are reviewed before publication, but review is not an endorsement and does not transfer responsibility to us.

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your Content as needed to operate and promote the Service. We may remove Content that breaches these Terms or the law.

7. Contributing compute and the client

As a Contributor you connect one or more Devices and donate their computing power to the projects or groups you join. Work runs through reviewed controllers that are self-contained and bring their own dependencies; the Client runs as an ordinary application and, by design, does not read your personal files or run programs outside the controller. Any temporary files are written only to a folder you choose and are cleared afterward, and you can turn local file use off entirely. You decide when to connect, pause, or disconnect.

You are responsible for the costs of running your Device, such as electricity, bandwidth, and hardware wear. We do not guarantee that any task will start, complete, or produce a particular result, or that contributing will have no impact on your Device's performance.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• run illegal, harmful, or rights-infringing computations;
• mine cryptocurrency;
• distribute malware or otherwise harmful code;
• circumvent or tamper with the Client's safety controls, the controller review process, or task execution;
• reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service;
• misrepresent your identity; or
• violate the rights, privacy, or safety of others.

We may suspend or remove access for breaches of this section.

9. Closed groups

Closed groups are private device pools reachable only through an invite link and are not listed publicly. The group owner controls who receives the invite and is responsible for the group's membership and use. Treat invite links as you would any secret.

10. Intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, and trademarks — belongs to the operator or its licensors and is protected by law. These Terms grant you no rights in it except the limited right to use it as intended. The Client software may carry its own license, which governs that software.

You keep ownership of your Content, subject to the license in the "Authors and project content" section. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

11. Privacy

We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

12. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, including WitIdentity for sign-in and code-hosting platforms for Client downloads. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, accuracy, or non-infringement. You use the Service at your own risk. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, device wear, or downtime, arising from your use of the Service. Because the Service is free and in beta, the operator's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid for the Service, which is zero.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the operator harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

16. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification — will survive.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. For material changes we will give reasonable notice, for example within the portal. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The competent courts of Israel will have jurisdiction over disputes, unless mandatory law where you live provides otherwise.
