A single spotlight on a dark stage. A small teal teapot drops in, squashes on impact, and bounces off with a wobble — soft-body dynamics from an era when “Flex modifier” was the exciting new toy in 3ds Max. Minimal, theatrical, and instantly readable.

It’s the oldest simulation in our showcase set and a neat reminder that physics-driven animation has been part of DCC workflows for decades. The 300-frame sequence was submitted from 3ds Max through the OmnibusCloud plugin and rendered across the network at 4K.

Part of our launch showcase, on the Simulation shelf next to Blender’s modern cloth and lava demos — twenty-five years of soft bodies on one page.
