A weathered android in a dust-colored cloak stands over a small solar-panel rover somewhere in the badlands. “Wanderer” is one of the best-known Blender demo scenes, created by Daniel Bystedt — 263 MB of dense hard-surface detail, layered materials and atmosphere.

Scenes this heavy are exactly what a distributed render network is for: each machine loads the scene once and takes frames from the queue until the sequence is done. The 199-frame, 4K shot you see above came off the network as a single continuous pass — no single workstation tied up for a day.

Rendered end-to-end on OmnibusCloud as part of our launch showcase.
